Looking for a notebook with a long battery life of around 750 euro. It should also be relatively future-proof, but I don't really know my way around, which one can you recommend?

Gu

I can recommend Acer Aspire 5 to you. Got one with long battery life.

Kr

What are you going to do with it?

De

Work, save data, light browser games

Then you can take this one: https://hardwarerat.de/...-pro?c=119 can be easily upgraded, more than enough power, easy to clean or repair the fan from the inside. Battery life should be sufficient. At least for me it would be sufficient.

Ok thanks I heard an extra graphics card is not useful for light games.

Kr

The integrated graphics unit with a sonem intel processor is so bad that you will have problems if you connect the laptop to a 4k television to watch a YouTube video in large format with your friends. The graphics card is not wrong. It's also pretty tiny and doesn't use any more power than the integrated unit. It even ensures that the processor stays cooler because it can give up tasks.

Long battery life and good value retention can typically be found on Apple computers. For the price, you could definitely get a very usable MacBook.

De

OK thanks

De

By that meant that the device would last for 5 years.

I already understood.

We have two Macbooks, 6 and 7 years old respectively, and they run like one. No end in sight. All OS updates free of charge, including an Office suite that is also regularly updated free of charge.

Before that, I had a lot of Windows PCs and laptops. After typically 2 - 3 years I exchanged them or completely rebuilt them internally: New hard drive, more memory, new graphics card… I never reached 5 years myself with a Windows PC, not even with a brand new one.
