I've been thinking about buying a new MacBook for a long time. However, I'm not so sure which one is right for me.
I currently have the 12 inch MacBook early 2016 in the basic configuration. That's enough for me for now. But what bothers me a lot is that it doesn't have a fan.
I always work with it for the university, but I've always enjoyed playing Sims since I was a teenager. I want to continue to do that. I do not see it, however, to buy a PC just for that.
I definitely need a Mac, the one. Has decent fan. I heard that this should also be a problem with the Airs. Is that correct? In itself, Sims 4 also runs perfectly on my Mac, but it gets warm quickly because it has no fan.
I just don't want that on my new Mac.
Otherwise I don't do much with the laptop. I mainly work with it for the university. However, it must be a device from Appel, since I also work with the iPad and the two complement each other perfectly.
Which MacBook can you recommend to me? Is one Air enough or do I have to take you a pro? In itself, I find the Air more beautiful to write with because it becomes flatter towards the front.
And finally there's a question. Apple soon no longer wants to use Intel Cips, but want to build their own. Should I wait and buy one with the new chips? Will the ledge parts still run on it or not? If not, it is out of the question for me.
However, I would rather wait for the new generation from my mind.
Can someone recommend me something?
Buy a Macbook Pro 13 inch 2020
or an Air 2020
Or a 16 "inch
the transfer to the ARM processor will take 2 years.
the base macbook (air and Pro 13 inch)
are more likely to come at the end
Well, the Macbook Air 2020 paid just under 1100 euro for a Dual Core i3 with 8GB RAM and the cooling is a single design flaw
OK thanks. So a 16 inch is out of the question. That is too big for me. But I just fluctuate between the current Air and the current Pro.
I would probably take the Air if it had a good fan.
Ok so as a layperson I understand that the cooling is really bad?
Then I tend to be a pro.
An MBP 13 "from 2020 should be able to do this without problems. An Air will collapse under the heat load of the CPU and the game will not run particularly well.
Because of the stuff with the ARM chips: As with the PowerPC processor 2006, a Rosetta emulator is introduced that can execute X86 code (Intel64) on ARM CPUs. Apple wants to save license costs to Intel. Whether the Sims 4 will run on it is in the stars.
Yes, the cooling is complete snot. But it's not better with the MacBook Pro either

Too late, there are none left. You'll have to make do with a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro.

What do you mind about that? That he works silently?

Well, if the MacBook did what you wanted so far (except fan noise), an Air with i5 should be more than enough.
And finally there's a question. Apple soon no longer wants to use Intel Cips, but want to build their own. Should I wait and buy one with the new chips?
If you can YES. Performance and runtime will increase significantly.

Pure gut feeling or are there any facts outside of development laboratories?
So it doesn't matter that he works silently. But it bothers me that it gets hot because it is dangerous for the laptop. I would prefer it to have a fan that would come on when needed instead of my laptop blowing at some point.
Both have the good guy ventilated
IPads with A12 are faster than most laptops. And they deliver more power per watt.
It remains to be seen whether Sims really runs on Apple's new chips.
Sure there will be n x86 emulator, but no one can assure you that this will really work with older games.
I would recommend you a 13 inch Macbook Pro with i5 and 8gb ram. That should be enough. To my knowledge, the Pro is the only series with a fan.
Are there also processors compared that have +/- 1 year the same year of release?
If you have a link to the test, it would be interesting for me.
