Hi
I found my old university laptop and started it up, but it asks for a password now, I can't remember it with the best of intentions. I already started in safe mode and apparently set an administrator password at the time. Is there still a possibility?
Just install Linux. You can't really use XP any longer anyway.
That was not the question…
When it comes to data, simply remove the disk and read it out.
The question was
Is there still a possibility?
And yes, there are, and I mentioned them.
The question was whether it would somehow get into the operating system. He didn't want to know that everyone should install Linux anyway because it's oh so cool and Windows sucks.
I interpret this to mean that the question is whether the laptop is still usable.
Okay, but why are Linux users always so focused that everyone should install Linux? He could also just install Windows, which is better for most people anyway, because not everyone wants to deal with Linux.
Well, I hang on to the old thing, they're just memories of my studies, so it's not just about the data
Forgot both user and admin password?
Yes, unfortunately
Use XP first Imagen and then in a Virtualbox, but you definitely need a more powerful computer.
Don't know my way around how does it work? Have other laptops
With Windows, however, such an old laptop is no fun, it is slow like anything else.
I discussed everything with my father, he last had the laptop, he said I could reset it because there's no important data on it. Is there a way to reset the laptop without a password?
No, you can't use restore points or anything. Unfortunately, installing XP is still pretty tough. I.e. You will only recognize your old XP after the installation.
In your place I would try the following
Even if Acronis is installed?
This is backup software. Has nothing to do with the bypass as in the video.
Unfortunately it looks very different for me when I start in safe mode…
Is that also useless?
Of course you can import a backup of which you still don't know the Windows password ^^
Yes i'm sorry i don't know the area: /
For me a login window pops up so with username and password, xpProfessional also has a different version
There are a number of different videos. You can just try it out.
