Okay I asked a question earlier but I don't care, I'm desperate
So, I got my new laptop 1 year ago, didn't use it for a while and I don't know the password anymore.
I tried everything, nothing worked
I just changed my password on the microsoft site, did I get the email with which I actually have this account? Logged in but it still says that the password is wrong, although I'm now 100% sure that it is correct
As a tip, I entered a pet, tried my cat's name until my rabbit tried it with all kinds of kombis, but nothing fits
And the best thing, of course, is 'password reset' instead of mans forgetting.
I went on it, inserted the USB stick but there's something from password disk blablabla and I didn't do that.
Would be really nice if someone knows what you can do, otherwise I have to pay for it to get there but I don't want to spend money on it.
It is quite relevant whether it is an online or offline account. The password of an online account should have changed if you changed it on the website (assuming you have internet).
An offline password for Windows is relatively easy to bypass, provided there's no bit lock or something in the way.
I quickly found this here:
The password reset only works if you have previously created a corresponding reset disk from your user account. That doesn't work here. If it is an online account and you can use it to log in to Microsoft online, this should work. Since you have obviously changed the password, you should check whether the computer is connected to the Internet. Otherwise it logically assumes the old password. If it is an offline account, then the way does not go.
