Is 128gb enough for school on a laptop?

I'm not sure how much gb a laptop needs for school (don't really know my way around) so I would say 128gb as a blanket but is that really enough?

Would actually only do or watch school (PowerPoint, video conferences, homeschooling) and sometimes Netflix.

Ca

Is enough

Do

That's enough. But you can always bring in external hard drives or USB sticks and as long as you don't download thousands of Netflix series it could be enough…

Ra

It should be enough. As a precaution, I would use 256GB because I know exactly what kind of data messie I'm.

Such a new function update from Windows needs a few GB, since a Windows.old folder is created.

128 GB is very, very little. MacBook? Otherwise you won't get such measly memory anymore, right?

I would normally recommend at least 500GB.

Software and games keep getting bigger, photos and videos anyway. You don't want to have to save on memory when it comes to updates.

Well, it's either a very cheap notebook, or a MacBook or MS Surface, both of which are known to make huge profits from memory. At Microsoft you have to pay 300 euro in their tablet for the jump from 128 to 256 GB and people pay for it because they have no other choice ".

Mi

Apple is already a specialist in overpriced updates.

Au

That's true. They just use the uoselling method. You start with a cheap product like the iPhone SE for 600 euro or so (I have no idea how expensive it really is) and then always offer updates for "small" price jumps, names like the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 2, iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro max. Then of course they still have the storage options, although at some point I heard that they install the same everywhere and then regulate it on the software side.

Na

No no Macbook, a Microsoft surface laptop go lol there you can unfortunately only take the highest gb 256. I don't really care how expensive or so, the main thing is that it works, but until now I've only heard good things about the surface and I'm now subtly undecided

According to what you said, I would say that you can get by with 128 GB. I don't do much more than surf the net. I have two or three games installed and no other huge programs. I used 75 GB with it. I have a bigger hard drive, but as you can see it can be used.

But it is also the case that the majority of notebooks have at least a 256 GB hard drive installed anyway. This is at least usually the case if you opt for a decent device in terms of processor and RAM that is priced at around 400 euro. In the case of cheaper notebooks, a smaller hard drive has usually been built in and then you also cut back on the processor.

So if it doesn't have to be a device for around 200 to 300 euro, one way or another with a larger hard drive will be feasible. Is of course also possible in the price range mentioned, but then you usually have a rather poor processor if you want a new device.
