You must have an office version without a CD but only with a key.

Then you have to download Office from Microsoft but before you enter your Microsoft account there, Office will be linked to your Microsoft account.

You don't have to spend money on an office program. It is ultimately just wasted money. Could have been standing under your window and holding hands to catch the money. Free alternative would be e.g. Libre Office.
