Laptop power adapter socket?

The power adapter socket on my laptop is defective (connected to the motherboard via an 8pin cable). So I ordered the spare part (2 times)

- nevertheless both spare parts do not work

- the laptop runs on battery

- The charger used runs on other devices

Why is it that the new power supply sockets do not work?

It could be that the pins on the motherboard are defective. So the plug to which the 8 pin cable is connected. That would be the only logical explanation for me.

All that is left are cold solder joints, (hopefully no) short circuits and circuit breaks.

If the socket was torn off, then probably only the latter remains as the cause.

It is best to measure the connections between the outer socket pins and the components connected to them according to the circuit diagram. Should a conductor track be interrupted, this can usually be done. Repair with a thin insulated wire. However, this requires a lot of skill and appropriate tools.
