I really needed a bigger hard drive for my laptop. I bought a 5TB hard drive (HDD) with 3.5 inches. It was clear to me in advance that a 3.5 inch plate would not easily fit in a laptop. But since my laptop also has a very thin base plate and broken hinges, I thought if I could not build a base plate made entirely of wood, so that there's space for my 3.5 inch plate and I could screw the hinges back on. However, there's the problem with the connections that I have to measure them precisely and then cut them out of the wood afterwards. Would that work in principle?
Your first problem should be the power supply, your notebook does not have the necessary voltage for a 3.5 "HDD. Your second problem is the data connection.
And yes you can also put a shoe box underneath if you feel like it and the skill.
The thing is that it is not a 3.5 inch HDD, it is advertised as 2.5 inch, but is unfortunately a bit larger due to the storage capacity. Here is the link: https://www.saturn.de/...89780.html
And why shouldn't it fit in your notebook? Just take it out of the case.
As already written, it does not meet the dimensions of a normal 2.5 inch plate. I also measured it again without a case, but it is just a little bigger than a normal 2.5 inch plate, so I don't know if it fits into it.
2.5 inches is 2.5 inches, there's no difference. The only thing that deviates is the height of the HDD.
So I don't know if it fits in there
And why don't you test that for fun if the height fits?
