But without a power supply.
The power supply of course costs as much as the whole new LEDs.
And now I'm wondering if I can also use a laptop power supply that has more than 12 W.
The connection would fit.
Please answer only as a professional, not that the house burns down afterwards.
We still have laptop power supplies there… From old laptops.
If the LEDs are connected in series, you need a power supply with constant current, which is determined by the KED strips
With parallel connection you need a power supply with constant voltage. This also depends on the strips.
The laptop works with constant voltage, which is too high for LEDs.
Basically, a laptop power supply with suitable series resistor is conceivable
DH.
I can't use it.
Only with soldering and tinkering, so no
Correct. I assume that there are LED strips for constant voltage and
are not for ConstantSTROM - this is indicated by the designation "12V".
So you need some 12V power supply that has enough power for your
(parallel) strips can deliver.
