How do you make a backup of the BIOS as a dump?
Is this only possible with a flasher, or can it also be done without opening the laptop?
If every tool is able to do a BIOS / UEFI update, you have to look on the board manufacturer's website.
This can either be done using such a tool from Windows or using a tool that has to be created separately from the manufacturer.
You don't have to open anything!
Thanks!
Is a China laptop… The support is very poor.
Do you have another idea?
So there shouldn't be a universal tool. Do you want to save the BIOS yourself and / or the settings? The manufacturer should be recognizable on the board, alternatively download and run HWinfo, the manufacturer of the MAinboard is also displayed, let's hope:
https://www.heise.de/...info-36684
Then you can download the flasher or the tool for BIOS / UEFI from there.
Thanks!
I found out the manufacturer (American Megatrends) and the version number.
But the manufacturer doesn't have anything on their website that would help me create a dump.
American Megatrends is the manufacturer of the BIOS, not the motherboard. HWinfo should also display that, then you should search under support or something.
This is SEAGATE. I had already asked them over the hotline but they don't give any support for the BIOS.
Seagate builds boards? They only have records, don't they?
That's true. But they also build boards for China laptops.
You can't see that on the Seagate support page. Then you will have bad cards… The flashers are ok. Usually board-dependent, because the methods of accessing the BIOS memory are also board-dependent. I don't know of a universal tool for this, maybe others here have an idea.
Oops… Should be a picking office, sorry… Close to it is also over!
