Do you have some suggestions which laptops / notebooks / tablets are well suited for the school? Price should not be more than 400/500
Well, that's exactly what I do not know. But a friend of mine recently sold his 2014 MacBook Air for 400 euro. Since you can make really good bargains and the devices from Apple are synonymous really long and are super good. Would then pay attention to the battery condition and the storage space, because you can't extend it. Otherwise you can look at new devices times at MediaMarkt etc. I would recommend a device with 8GB of memory and at least 256GB (SSD) of internal memory. So you will get along for at least 2-3 years. Windows 10 operating system with common office applications. Netflix, Youtube etc you can then easily watch it. Brands I would look for HP, Acer, Asus, Lenovo. Maybe you will also find something from the Think Pad series.
With used notebooks you can do real bargains. For example, a well-used Lenovo thinkpad would fit into this budget. For this you get then decommissioned company equipment which are visually and technically in good condition and despite their age of 2,3,4years (which is the refresh cycle in many companies) offer significantly more power than a new device.

Alternatively, a Surface Pro 4 would be in there for the money (or a little more). This is a tablet from Microsoft with notebook hardware in it. With the keyboard cover and kickstand, it can also be used like a notebook and supports writing with the pen on the display (handwriting recognition)

The latter I use myself as a workhorse for office applications and the Internet. The battery life and the compactness inspire me.
Laptop Notbook mean the same thing.
My child has an Apple Ipad. I'm crazy. Costs right. But I did not have it in my hand.
My wife Exfrau afterwards. "I have no more money…"
No wonder… Aplle is not cheap in the supermarket.
I gave her the 1 000 euro.
But one thing. Never again…
Pure for school I can recommend you used Thinkpads.
For 200-300 euro you get SSD, 8GB RAM and at least one i5 of the 4th Gen.
If in doubt, a new battery would be necessary, but I have not happened yet and would still be in the budget
Apple devices and especially the OS is more like toy…
Laber Rhubarb - as usual…
