Yesterday we had a short circuit due to router, phone, etc. Gone out. Now the Wlan is totally slow and the laptop is not working at all. The Wlan sign is displayed, so router is not broken in itself and is recognized. What could that be & what can be done about it?
That can happen and is understandable. Do you have any further wireless repeater or wireless access point, then just restart this again.
There are only 3 overlapping WLAN channels (1,6,11) at 2.4 GHz. If a router starts, and the WLAN channel selection is set to automatic (this is the default), the router selects an unused WLAN channel.
BUT, do you have neighbors who also have wireless router, all routers (even wireless repeaters) on the same channel in the way, the result is: The wireless will be slower (the coordination function of the WLAN standard intervenes).
Solution: Just restart the router.
OR:
Manually switch the WLAN channels again, use as few channels as possible (do not use intermediate channels, this is even worse).
With this free Android App Fritz App Wi-Fi you can check your environment. If possible, check in the evening if many neighbors WLANs are active.
PS:
Laptop is not working? Start Repeater now again (electricity from the turn on it), can help.
