I have a problem with my new laptop. The brightness can no longer be changed. Neither when I press f2 or F3, nor when I want to change it in the settings. Nothing happens when I move the slider up or down.
I really haven't had the laptop that long. Does anyone know what that could be or what it could be? What can I do against it?
Try restarting your laptop, ie: Go to the shutdown menu and select "Restart" there.
The image brightness can usually be changed with the help of an Fn key combination. - How to do this with your laptop can be found in the accompanying user manual.
Independently of this, it can also be set in the graphics card software. However, one should proceed with some caution.
Go into the BIOS or EFI and try out whether the keys work or whether the brightness can be changed in the menu. If so, it should be a simple driver problem. If not, the hardware could be defective, e.g. The control line between motherboard and TFT display.
