I would like to study something that is in the direction of media informatics and am looking for a new laptop / notebook for it. How much RAM is up-to-date for this? Is 8 GB enough these days or should you go for an expensive 16 GB model? Is there anything else important to consider?
At least 16 GB and an average of 32 GB. I would prefer to go with 32 but you have to see how it fits in price!
Hi. So my "cheap" phone already has 6GB. I find 8GB rather scarce, not because of IT, but because of web browsing, possibly VMs, etc.

Daily or yearly. Depends on the user. I use my Surface every day and have replaced my notebook!
