Since my laptop has given up the ghost, the question arises whether you can remove the hard drive and use it as an external hard drive that can run both the programs and the data are usable. Would be grateful for tips.

Most of the programs will not run anymore. But you can access the data.

You can install the programs without problems on the new research.

So install programs on a new computer and then open the data from the external should go? Windows does not block this?

de

Yes exactly.

You should then copy the data s.besten on the new hard drive and format the external disk (I recommend the exFAT format) to delete the old Windows on it. Then you can copy the data back.

So always assuming your old laptop did not break because of the hard drive.
