I bought new RAM, I have an msi trident 3 and I wanted to upgrade it. The PC uses laptop RAM but the one I ordered doesn't fit what should I watch out for when I buy RAM?
You probably bought DDR3 SO-DIMM instead of DDR4 SO-DIMM.
One is DDR3, the other DDR4
The RAM must be of the same standard as the other. The top bar should be a DDR3 bar, while the bottom bar is likely a DDR4 bar.
In addition, the bars should have the same clock frequencies and CL times, this reduces the chance of problems.
So it is because it is ddr3 RAM if so, I did not know at all 🤣 does anyone have an idea what I can do with the RAM that does not fit, after all, I saved 3 weeks for it
If you bought it online, you can make use of the right of exchange, provided you come from Germany and the purchase was not more than 2 weeks ago. (making use of the exchange right means that you exchange it)
I'm from Austria, unfortunately, and I threw away the packaging, sometimes I'm a real idiot, well today I'll order one anyway
