I bought an old win XP laptop (IBM Thinkpad T23) today and opened the laptop and unplugged the bios battery and plugged it in again. But now there's an error that I should set the time correctly. At this point the BIOS menu would open. But I have to enter a password and have also written to the seller and have not yet responded. Can I somehow skip this? LG
No, as far as I know the Thinkpads, the password can only be reset by replacing a chip with non-volatile memory. Is stored in the same way as the BIOS itself in an EEPROM
