Laptop problems? - 2

I took my old laptop out again and after I had connected the charging cable for a long time, I wanted to boot it up, but the screen stays black. If I connect a monitor via VGA, nothing is displayed there, which in my opinion is due to the fact that the 2nd screen is always black when entering the password (this is how it is with my PC).

It may be so old that the CMOS battery is empty. If you switched it on and let it load for 1 hour or 2 hours, * it might make it into the BIOS. If the date is incorrect, the CMOS battery needs to be replaced.

I wish you success

then switch off and switch on again immediately…

I've now fully charged it overnight. The screens both stay black and a second one has never been connected so yes, I don't know whether it would generally display something, although the DVD tray opens when you press the head and it sounds like he wants to do something with it.

Wa

In addition, the 2nd screen receives a signal (does not indicate that it is not receiving a signal)

Si

DVD function ok says power supply works.

Wa

And with the dragpad (or whatever it is called) the lights also indicate that it is charging and when it starts up

Si

Did you switch off after charging and switch it on again shortly afterwards? If not, keep the power button depressed for a long time and it will go out reliably.

Si

Also only power supply. Switch off reliably, as described above

Wa

I've already done that

Si

Then do it again and if it is reliable, switch it on again.

Wa

I did it, but nothing is displayed

Si

Then there's probably a graphics problem.

Wa

How could I fix this

Si

In the case of a desktop PC, replace the graphics card or plug it in additionally. If you could operate your system blindly, you could access it from another PC. Depending on the age, the repair is quite expensive and not worthwhile.
