Windows 7 breaks off dvd play?

Hi! My laptop just does not want to play dvds properly anymore. The movie runs for a few minutes, but then stops and displays error messages for the player. Have different player works - does not work. Other DVDs - can't. I can only look up to the point at which it runs, but do not pull over, fast forward, skip. Does anyone have a solution for this? PS: Viruses are not, laptop has been reset to factory condition…
