You seem to be using Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition. For this, believe must be set in your Microsoft account that you can play online.
I would rather recommend the Java Edition of Minecraft, as everything works there without permission.
You can somehow create a Java Edition account via Microsoft and when you click on Multiplayer this message appears.

you could try to log into Minecraft.net with your account access data and then look under Games and Downloaded if you also have the Java Edition available.
I don't think these Microsoft access data will work, but it's worth a try
