Does the IP address change when I connect to a hotspot?

If I'm connected to my Wi-Fi with my laptop using my mobile phone's hotspot, does my mobile phone have the same IP address as my laptop or does it get a different one because it is not directly connected to the Wi-Fi?

From the outside it can only be differentiated with tricks whether a program on your laptop itself or a "tethered" device is causing the data traffic. At least not with the IP address.

In IPv4, NAT is used for subnetworks, your laptop hotspot does that too.

This means that the sender IP of a packet from the cell phone is the same as that from the laptop for the network in which the laptop is located.
