I want to get a Mac Book pro for university. The one I'm looking at has 8GB of RAM and the hard drive's storage capacity is 256GB. I already have to use the laptop for lectures, etc. Before… Do you think there's enough memory?
(and one more question: how do you find Mac books for university? Do Microsoft programs like Word run properly?)
I would recommend 512GB. That's enough for everything. You can also get the iCloud. Then you have up to 2TB of storage.
The only problem with Apple is that memory is gold.
I would also recommend 512GB (256 are quickly too tight). Since I don't know what exactly you want to do with it, it doesn't have to be right, but for more complex applications you quickly need 16GB of RAM, but you have to look.
You don't need 500Gb or 16Gb ram. I study myself and use my MacBookPro every day without exception for programming, editing pictures, editing videos, which you don't even want to do if I understand correctly. I have 200Gb of memory myself and that's enough, unless you want to host some huge server on your computer. Memory is very expensive at Apple, if you don't mind a few hundred dollars then upgrade Ram, but memory is definitely enough.
How so? The new Sasmung boxes also no longer have an SD slot
And the iCloud.
I haven't written anything like that they don't have an SD card slot anymore. I just mean that storage is so overpriced at Apple.
Is not he? Quality has its price. That's why I'm with Apple.
Of course this is overpriced. Apple relies on standard memory that is not times faster than mine in the PC.
So mainly for school / study 8 GB and 256 GB are enough…
If, for example, you should discover photography for yourself in the near future, you can always use an external hard drive to back up your data and outsource large amounts of data…
What I think of an MB for the university… Well, I personally and my son have decided to study a Surface. This can be used as a tablet with a pencil… The typecover / keyboard makes it super compact and handy for on the go… And all Windows programs can be used, so you are quickly limited with an MB (we have an MBP ourselves).
Word or Microsoft 365 can of course be used on the MB… The Mac version is available for this purpose…
Yes and? In return I get something high quality from APPLE!
256 GB will sooner or later become too scarce, buy the 512 GB one, so you're on the safe side
