I bought a notebook a few days ago, but I want to send it back.
The notebook had no operating system and I had to install it myself with a Win 10 boot stick. To send it back, I want to delete Windows again, as if the device is like new without an operating system.
However, I don't really know how to do it and I would like to avoid mistakes.
If a USB bootable operating system would start e.g. Overwrite Ubuntu and the hard disk with 0s (or optionally random) ("dd" is friend and helper) or simply delete the partition table.
Note, however, that you may be able to restore data!
I therefore recommend that hard drives are only used encrypted. (also works without having to constantly enter your password)
You can't return the device under the Distance Selling Act because you have already put it into operation and even installed an operating system. You can of course uninstall the operating system again, but I suspect that with a normal uninstallation some garbage remains on the hard drive, so that the use of the device could be proven.
If the device has defects, you can complain and have it repaired, if necessary.
I would make the hard drive flat with dban.
So like in the tutorial?
Could you then theoretically reinstall an operating system with a Win 10 boot stick?
