2. Monitor on the laptop?

Got 2 monitors for Christmas, but only have one HDMI connection on the laptop, which adapter do I need and can I connect 2 monitors at all?

Ar

That depends on the connections and the graphics unit of your laptop.

What kind of laptop? Which processor? If available, which graphics card?

Ha

You can buy an extension cable that gives you 2 more HDMI ports. Of course you have to buy 2 normal HDMI cables for this.

But first you have to check with the manufacturer whether your laptop model supports image output for 2 monitors.

Am

I have a Lenovo laptop

Ar

Which model?

Which technical data (processor, graphics card, …)?

Am

I'll just wait and see

Ac

If you still have a VGA port on your laptop, you can connect a screen to the HDMI port and one to the VGA port if your screen has VGA, if not, there are cheap adapters available.

This answer is about the same as if someone asked you, "What kind of car do you drive?" and you say: "A green one"

Am

Where can I find the vga connection? How does he look like?

Ac

Mostly on the left if you have one at all. That is a connection with three rows of small holes 15 in total. You can simply search for VGA on Google Images and things will be displayed directly.

Am

Have looked, unfortunately haven't got any, are there any other options?

Am

Ok, I now know my details

Ac

Here someone has already given an answer who said that you could possibly get an HDMI splitter that turns one HDMI compartment into two, but I don't think that will work or that the laptop supports something like that because of the amount of data that is then sent by one HDMI slot would have to be pressed.

Am

Pity…

Ar

Fine, but not me.

Am

What do you need right?

Ar

Laptop model, processor name and, if available, graphics card name

Am

I send picture mom

Am

Where can I send pictures here?

Ar

I believe in addition to your question

Am

Okay but unfortunately I don't see anything

Ar

Under "Edit question" → "Add question" there should be a small icon above the text field

Am

I asked a new question, there are the pictures.

Ar

What kind of laptop model is it?

Is it correct that it has a DisplayPort connection?

Am

Ka what that is

Ar

It looks like this

Then you can probably connect a maximum of 1 additional monitor to the HDMI port. Under certain circumstances your graphics unit would also pack one more (with which performance is an open question), but there are no connection options for it.

In my opinion, the only solution would be an external graphics card, although the graphics performance will not be outstanding in the end either. But it should be enough for office applications.

This one should e.g. Fit on your laptop:
