Well, that's because your PC / drive does not recognize the CD as an audio CD - the reasons can be many.
Just try to start your PC with a CD or if the CD is recognized by the media player - if not, you will have to try it on another PC
If the CD player on your PC is defective, you can also buy an external CD / DVD Palyer, which is then connected via USB.
It could also be a copy protection. Try a program like EAC to rip the CD. Maybe it works anyway.

Ask the publisher why this is so. Maybe the CD has a "defect" and they send you a new one.
