There's no virus in OpenOffice. Did you also download it from the official website? Incidentally, you can also use LibreOffice. Is almost the same.

Which anti-virus software did you install? It is best that you only use Windows built-in anti-virus protection (Windows Defender) and remove everything else. Then the thing also runs faster.
See if your school offers it for free if you're a student. Just look at the website of the school. Otherwise, try it with Wordpad:-)
