I'm looking for an adapter from Display Port for my new 144hz monitor? Because I heard that the Hdmi can't do 144hz. Now the problem is that my laptop doesn't have a display port. What now?
Would generally not connect a laptop to a 144hz monitor, because in most cases you will not reach 144fps unless it is a gaming laptop that could possibly do this.
You can still use an adapter. You may just not be able to use the 144hz. Alternatively, there's possibly USB-C or even TB3? But I doubt if there's an HDMI connection.
A DisplayPort to HDMI adapter will not deliver 144hz. If the two devices support it, you can transmit with a high-quality HDMI cable 120hz. If your laptop has a Thunderbolt 3 port that would work with a DisplayPort on TB3 with 144hz
Yes it is a gaming laptop
What now?
Nothing now. You can adapt from HDMI to Display Port. The bottleneck is still the HDMI port on the laptop. So you are limited to 120Hz.
What adapter? I have Hdmi, Usb c, Usb 3.0 and 2.0. Can you recommend one to me?
What's in it?
Ok the 120 are enough too. Can you recommend a cable there?
Geforce gtx 1060, i5 9000 or do you want to know something specific?
HDMI 1.4 or higher.
:)
Yes standard hdmi can only 60hz
hdmi 2.0 to 120 Hz
The only cables that can handle 144Hz are DVI-D dual link or display port
Here again in detail

Ok, so that you could even get to 144fps, the problem with the connection still remains, as some have already written, it will be a little problematic
Unfortunately has no Thunderbolt
Another question can you see the heart number somewhere? When is it connected?
Then you have to settle for 120hz if your laptop can do that.
Certainly. Can you recommend a cable there?
