How can I persuade my parents to buy me a PC?

At the moment I have an office laptop with 4GB RAM on which Minecraft doesn't even run smoothly. I would like to buy a 300-400 euro PC (with my pocket money), but my mother says I would only get addicted and gamble all day. We also need PCs for school, but she says a laptop like this would be completely sufficient for that, which is true in itself.
