I have a laptop and the internet doesn't work. I can connect to the wireless router, but I can't get internet from the router. I carried out a problem analysis and it turned out that there was an error in the IP configuration. I looked for solutions on the Internet, and it was often said that the DNS server is not set to automatic. However, everything is automatic with me. I also tried adding a file called IPAutoconfigurationEnable in regedit, which was missing from me, but this also did not work. Could someone help me? I also restarted the Wi-Fi router many times. Also, my internet doesn't work on all of my other devices only on my laptop.
Go to the Windows search and enter "cmd". A small black window will open. There you then enter "ipconfig" once. Under the heading "Wireless LAN adapter WLAN" (or similar) you should find an address called "IPv4 address". If the address after the colon starts with 169.x.x.x, then your laptop does not get a valid IPv4 address. So first I would go through the basics like:
Disconnect and reconnect Wi-Fi.
Restart the laptop
Restart the router
Unfortunately it didn't work either, I got a new laptop and was able to connect to it, but I couldn't get the internet. So now I have no internet on my old laptop and on my new one. This will probably not be due to the laptop, the same problem occurs with both devices.
Did you sometimes pull the power cord to restart the router so that it is completely disconnected from the power supply? Have you tried it at different times?
I didn't have no yet, but have now done it. It works again.
Small update again, the day before yesterday the router was completely down, so I had no internet for 1 day. Then I called my wireless provider and they found that the modem was broken. Now I have a new modem and everything works.
Thanks for the update.
