Laptop doesn't boot after CPU upgrade?

I upgraded my MEDION Akoya p6630 from the original i3-390m to an i7-640m. This comes from the same generation, same base…

When I tried to start the PC, however, it didn't work. However, the Wi-Fi light flashes once every 5 seconds.
What could be the reason why the laptop won't start?

Does the BIOS not support the processor despite the same gene?

Fr

Does the board support the new version? So the Bios.must more than just fit into the base!

Fr

And yes, even with the same generation, you actually have to look. And how are the 2 CPUs the same generation?

La

Can it be that the power supply does not fit? Say the i7 probably needs a lot more power and your battery says no?

but I have no idea of upgrading laptops… You probably forgot to put the plug back in correctly when you screwed it together… It's not that easy with the lappi

Both need 35W

eq

Are both Arrandale processors. Same base, same W, …

Fr

Well the generation is the number after the name so I5-3rd generation90m and I7 6th generation40m

eq

No, that is not so.

The generation is the first, also called Arrandale. I7 1st gen 640m and i3 1st gen 390m.

in the second generation they are called 2xxx and in the third 3xxxx.

The three-digit number for the first and the four-digit numbers for the following generations are typical for Intel

Now i have you!
