PC uses internal micro instead of headset?

Please read first, before you rashly typed in an answer.

I'm using a SteelSeries Arctis 3 headset connected to my laptop via a 3.5mm jack. Unfortunately, TS / Discord apparently use the internal microphone.

If I go into the recorders now, I have a) an HD audio device (rear panel (?)), Which never shows anything and / or record. B) another HD audio device, which works, but the internal microphone is used both with the headset plugged in and unplugged! (The output sound is redirected to the headphone correctly, so everything works as it should.)

Until yesterday he has neatly changed the micro as soon as I plugged it.

Since both about the same "device" aka. Jack running, I can disable the device nciht, because then apparently neither of the two micros sends.

How do I get the Arctis 3 to work?

Do you have a laptop with a single jack for KH / microphone?

There are also sockets with only 2 channels + ground, so only for headphones!

No are two separate (colored, light green, pink) sockets with 3-pin connector. The headset is in itself with only one output over 1x4 pin, but I use the enclosed adapter cable on 2x3pol. The laptop is a little older and I still use Windows 7, but with the old headset it worked great (Steelseries siberia 200). He just does not recognize the new headset microphone.
(yes, I can google myself, there's nothing useful to show up, and no, I did not confuse the jacks, I'm not colorblind, and then I would not hear anything.)

Does the headset with adapter cable work on another device?

Unfortunately, I can't test it because I only own this device, which has both input and output.

Have grad just installed Realtek HD audio driver, but then went GAR NOTHING (neither hear nor speak), so again down so that now works with Windows drivers at least again the internal.

A few days ago, the old headset was still working on the same jack. So either it is a software error or the headset is broken (is new, actually that may not be.) Although I exclude s Buchbuchfehler nciht, but the timing directly to headset change would be very funny.

I've just blown through the socket, now seems to go again. Very funny. So it was probably because of the socket, which has not recognized the cable.
