I used an ethernet port that is connected to my computer via LAN cable.
If I now do a speed test, a download speed of 12mb / s is displayed. However, this is far too little. I have connected the same LAN cable (as well as Ethernet port / LAN connector) to my laptop and there I'm shown a download speed of 49mb / s (so much more).
With the device manager under the LAN adapter everything is "perfect".
Why is it that my computer has a much lower download speed than my laptop? How can I fix it?

So these ~ 12MB / s mean m. E. On the fact that your PC only has a 100 megabit Ethernet connection, or the fast 1000 megabit mode is deactivated.
(=> ~ 12 MegaByte / s * 8 Bit = ~ 96 MegaBit / s ~ = 100 MegaBit / s)
Idea: Have a look at your router settings…
It could well be that the LAN connection on which your PC is connected is running in "economy mode".
That would be these 100 megabits / s. You can also switch there.

This could work similarly for routers from other manufacturers.
If, on the other hand, your computer is already significantly older and should only have 100Mbit-Lan, 1GBit-Lan can also be retrofitted via a plug-in card (PCI / PCIe).
