Why doesn't Windows recognize my external hard drive?

I have a 2 TB external hard drive. However, this is not recognized on my computer. It is neither listed in the disk management nor can it be seen in the device manager. It is not broken, however, because it is recognized on my laptop. What can that be?

How is it connected? USB 2/3? ESATA?

Connected via USB right? When you restart, go into the BIOS and see if it is listed there, if so, download Mal Partition Wizard (free), and then you can assign a slot to the drive if necessary

The hard drive is USB 3.0 capable, but is currently connected to a USB 2.0 hub. However, I can also connect it directly to the PC and it is still not displayed.

The hard disk is recognized as "MultipleCard Reader 1.00" in the BIOS. However, it is not displayed in the Partition Wizard.

Sry for the late reply, then it's an internal / or card probably with converter, that's like a usb232 / com to usb converter for example. This means that only the converter is apparently recognized here, and not the end device.
