I have a headset and when I plug it in I also hear about it. However, when I talk to others in the Discord, they complain about my poor quality. Then I took the headset out and kept talking. They could still understand me, which means that I have my laptop's microphone active. How can I manage to understand them clearly and speak clearly via the headset? I have connected my laptop to a monitor
Try going to the settings in Discord. There should be a category for the microphone settings. Change your laptop microphone there to your headset microphone.
There I think you can also test how the others hear you, but I'm not sure at the moment.
Thanks, but I've already tried that. I also can't find out the name of my headset. When I watch YT on my headset, it says "Speakers (Realtek High definon audio) on the bottom right. But when I get it out, it says exactly the same thing. I'm really desperate and have tried a lot. My laptop has 2 connections. One, where one headphone is and the other is accompanied by a microphone. I always plug my headset into where the headphones are, does that have anything to do with it?
No, that shouldn't affect anything, after all, the headphones belong in the headset connection.
Maybe you could try looking for sound '' (at least that's what I mean) and try deactivating your laptop mic under the item "Recording". There you should also see whether your headset microphone is even recognized, or is possibly deactivated
