I have a laptop and would like to connect it to a monitor. I would then like to use my laptop as a second screen and my external monitor as the main screen… My laptop also has an HDMI connection. Now my question: How is it possible? Do I have to connect both with the HDMI cable? And how great is the loss of performance with a separate screen or possibly how many FPS you could lose.
Thanks in advance, to all technology freaks out there:-)
Simply cable from the laptop to the screen, exactly.
Loss of performance shouldn't be noticeable on a modern computer if you don't want to push it to its limits.
By the way, in the "Display Settings" you can position the screens and set the main screen.
Your question is easy to answer. Connect your monitor to your laptop via HDMI. You can easily determine the order of the screens (main screen) via the Windows settings.
You may lose FPS if you don't have a good graphics card (and processor) that can handle it. If your PC is already running at the limit, there could be problems.
Try it out - you will see how it goes.
