I have some films on my laptop and wanted to copy them over to my external hard drive, this actually went well but when I want to watch them on my Samsung TV they are not displayed.
Vl is the format not correct? Then you would have to convert them. 😅🙈
Delete the "VI" and make a statement instead of a question. 😉
The correct video coding is also not a trivial topic. Especially if you do not know or pay attention to what the device can now do.
In contrast to a PC, a television can only process a very limited number of video codecs. For digital television he (currently) only needs MPEG-2 (standard TV) and H264 (HD-TV, DVB-T2) or VC1 (Bluray, obsolete Sat-HD). Streaming services now use the H265, which uses bandwidth even more economically. Only "brand new" devices that can play streaming services directly can do that. And what you can find on the net has all sorts of formats, a current "only television" can only cope with the fewest formats from exchanges and YTdownloaders.
If the films on the hard drive are in mkv format, put the films in the tool avidemux which only changes the container to mp4 without hours of conversion.
Otherwise connect Lapto / PC with HDMI to the TV and watch it.
