I want to upgrade my PC. I already know from the manufacturer of my mainboard that I can go up to 32GB RAM. Therefore I would like to do this with 2x16GB bars if possible.
But it is difficult to find something suitable online for a reasonable price. I'm currently watching on Amazon and every time I think that would be appropriate it is suddenly DDR4, even though I have entered DDR3 in the search.
I don't know where to look anymore.
Here is another picture of
CPU-Z for more detailed information about what I currently have.
PS: I have a tower PC, not a laptop.
16 GB DDR3 bars were quite exotic and were supported by practically no mainboard. If you want to have 32 GB, you will have to look for 4x8 GB.
Amazon is also not a good place to buy hardware. I would strongly advise against the investment, since DDR3 is hardly produced anymore, the prices are correspondingly high, you also buy for the garbage can, because you can no longer use DDR3 with a modern platform. I also wonder what you hope for from 32GB?
Z.Z. If you have installed 2 * 4GB DDR3 1600MHz CL11, you could use any of these DIMMs: https://www.mindfactory.de/...:1406:1407
Samsung 16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz 16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz ECC memory module - modules main memory (16 GB, 1 x 16 GB, DDR3, 1600 MHz, 240-pin DIMM)
costs 80 euro at amazon
Where is the problem?
But what do you want to "improve" with it? Speed?
My motherboard needs DDR3, that's the way it is.
What do I hope for from 32GB RAM? Maybe I always have enough RAM?
What do I want to improve? This RAM usage here:
PS: I'm only in the main menu of Minecraft.
Well, that's 160 euro for a dying platform (DDR3). It would be too much for me or I don't have it for it.
I only need an upgrade, I don't play new games. Everything else fits.
Incidentally, I'm not you.
I would have noticed the latter too.
16GB is enough for that. For about 220/230 euro you can get a new Ryzen system (1600AF, 16GB 3.2GHz CL16 DDR4, MSI B450 VDH max), for 32GB RAM 140-190 euro would be due… It just pays off.
In addition, you do not need 32GB, if you actually needed that much RAM, it means that you would render or compress (massively) data, if you did, you would have used a more modern system a long time ago…
