I'm going to buy a 2.5 inch HDD for my old laptop. However, the case is no longer there. I can't find a replacement. In principle, I can install it without it, right? I can fix it with something else. Doesn't have to be perfect.
Go, is bogus:-)
How?
Is the HDD open or is the laptop casing missing?
I don't know your laptop: You probably mean a rather rare device-specific installation cage. If necessary, you can also use hot glue or double-sided adhesive tape, for example.
The hdd is open
Then it is broken
Can you install the part with double-sided tape. But it wouldn't be my favorite because HDDs don't like vibrations and laptops tend to be moved.
If it is financially possible I recommend you to get an SSD, then it doesn't really matter how exactly you install it. (In addition, the system feels n pieces faster and uses less power)

Thanks, the laptop will only be at the desk anyway
