A relative of mine had to give the laptop for repair because of an update. He switched off the device in the middle of the update and then the screen did not come on anymore.

Now my laptop is going through the new Windows update and it somehow takes longer than usual. It has been restarting for 20 minutes, nothing more happened. What can I do? Because the laptop is brand new and I don't want to throw 600 euro to the wind.

Don't turn it off and wait… If you turn off or restart your computer in the middle of an update, it's your own fault if it doesn't work afterwards. Some updates just take a while… Yesterday there was only one who had already had 30 minutes… Shortly after the answer, it went on without doing anything…

My laptop has a Ryzen 7 and 8 GB of RAM, that's why I ask the question. Because the relative's had an Intel Celeron, 2 GB of RAM and that is not a big hit either…

Believe me, he'll finish the update. Just be patient… If the update goes wrong, it will take another time and it will revert to the state it was in before the update… I've already had that too…
