Laptop hard disk to pc?

How can I connect the hard disk to the pc? The cables are the same as those of the hard disk in the pc. But if I connect them the pc does not recognize them

Br

Have times with my computer scientist asked because I want to read old hard drives from the PC on the laptop. He said I brewed a special device for it, possible that you need one

Pe

What do you mean by "the PC does not recognize it"? Is not she appearing in explorer?
Look in the disk management. (Diskmgmt.msc)

Ph

The och is also older, just connected the hard drive from the laptop, it shows the operating system but does not open it

Ph

The computer…

can't connect both hard drives yes

br

This is actually without problems, is synonymous only ne HDD in small.

Have to look it up (as already advised) in the system administration.

But you can check in the BIOS before if it is detected. If you already have a m.2 it may be that the SATA port has no function.

Ph

Can I just pull out one and connect it from the laptop? Although the operating system displays what is on the disk, it does not even start in safe mode

br

No, that usually does not work.

Presumably PC and notebook are much too different in the system (chipset etc). Therefore, Windows will not start… So not s.der HDD but s.der different hardware.

Ph

Ok thanks, so I need an extra cable to connect it

br

No, why an extra cable?

br

Simply a SATA cable and power from the power supply and already runs the HDD s.PC.

Pe

Buy a SATA USB adapter.

Ph

Thank you worked
