I would like to reset my original Windows laptop to factory defaults for Linux so that I have Windows again as I do

-centOS 7

Mu

Create a Windows installation stick
Insert the Windows installation stick
Select the Windows installation stick in the BIOS as the boot medium
Install Windows

Gr

Use MediaCreation Tool to create a bootable USB stick.
Boot from the USB stick and install Windows, you will get rid of your Linux.

I don't have a windows key

na

Doesn't matter if I no longer have a windows key

Mu

Then. Buy one?

na

Can you also enter that from another laptop without it then causing damage?

Mu

No. Of course, a license key can only be used on one computer at a time.

Gr

I don't care if it's legal, I dare to doubt.
You can install Windows 10 without a key, but you won't get it activated. So far, however, this has had no major effects except that Windows annoys with "I'm not activated" etc.

na

The laptop originally had windows 7, can't you just reset it?

Gr

If the recovery partition is still there, I don't think so.
Isn't there a sticker with the Windows 7 key on it? Then you can use it.

na

No, unfortunately not
