Transfer data from broken Samsung 4 mini to laptop?

I just have a lot of stress, because my old Samsung A4 mini (which I had for 4 years) has now given up completely his mind: Although there are still signs of life when you turn it on and off and it was still ringing, but the Screen remains stubbornly black and I can't do anything anymore. Now, of course, I want to transfer all my data (numbers, chats, music, pictures, videos etc) to my laptop at least (and ideally to my new phone, which will probably be an iphone6s). If I now connect the mobile phone via usb cable with the laptop, the folder of the HAndys appears, but it is nothing in it (probably because on the mobile phone the transmission via USB cable is not allowed). Does anyone have an idea how I still get the data? I know it's a very stupid situation, but if anyone had an idea how I could do it, it would be great.

Since you are not the first and the last to break your Android Phone and then want a backup (not boes!) There are apps for that, e.g. This:

or this: https://www.fonedog.com/broken-android-data-extraction/backup-android-phone-broken-screen.html

If a lock (pattern, PIN, etc.) is set on the phone, you can forget it. Will be difficult with programs because there's something to save.

No, it is quite possible, e.g. If you use the OGT connection via USB, connect a keyboard and unlock the pattern.

I'm not saying it's impossible. But I was in EXACTLY the same situation a year ago, and although I think I'm technically pretty well versed, that was far too complex. Display repair has made this obsolete.

I had to activate the OTG before, which of course is impossible with a broken display. Or it was a similar problem, do not remember exactly.
