I would like to save a video from the ZDF media library (as written above) on my mobile phone / laptop. I was told that I have to convert this to an MP3 file.
I have absolutely no plan of that. I have an Android phone if that should be important.
I was also given an app, but there are thousands of them and I absolutely can't. I have no plan how to do it.
Can you tell me how you do it? (Best explained foolproof.
Which app? What do I have to do then?
If you convert a video, no matter where, into an MP3, you only have the sound! Do you want that?

If you convert the video into an mp3 file, you end up with only one audio file.
if you want to save the video there are browser addons and with the vlc player the whole thing would also be possible.
