Sell PC on ebay classified ad?

I want to sell a laptop on Ebay Classifieds. It is quite old, but still fully functional. I already have a prospect. How can I protect myself as best as possible? It may well be that it is working at the moment, but then suddenly it no longer works for the person or 3 weeks later it no longer works or the person pretends that the PC no longer works although it is still working. I ship the laptop, so a contract is difficult.

I'm looking forward to nice answers!

Basically only exchange goods for money. Then the buyer can convince himself of the proper condition.

However, the person lives further away. Is there no alternative?

Na

No!

Then hands off. You may well never get your money. On ebay classifieds you do not do business where goods can't be exchanged for money in person.

Pl

We agreed that it would be sent as soon as the money was in the account

St

Describe the article correctly, exclude warranty, done.

Pl

So I could say "I do not accept any liability and will not take the PC back once it has been shipped?" And is it good?

ja

You can't cover yourself when shipping the device. Commissioning upon collection would be an option.

Otherwise, payment by bank transfer, not PayPal, not PayPal F&F, wait until the receipt of payment appears on your account and only then send it, of course insured shipping.

ja

Yes, you can expressly inform the interested party again that private sale and return are excluded.

St

You do not need to take back the goods, the buyer has no right of return. In the case of a private sale, the buyer is obliged to provide evidence if there are defects. The buyer always has bad cards here, a lawsuit is practically hopeless.

This is not your concern. Ebay Classified Ads is a service for local businesses. A pick-up market.
Pack it well and label the package appropriately so that nothing happens at the post office. If he doesn't walk after 3 weeks, then he's out of luck. Can't be foreseen.

There's really nothing more to say about it.

And if you still really want to send:

Only offer payment by SEPA transfer to your account.
Don't offer PayPal; not by goods and services, not by family & friends, not at all.
Do not react to alleged emails from banks, but only send them after you have convinced yourself that the money has actually been received.
Only send with tracked delivery.

Guarantee / liability for material defects (not the guarantee!) Exclude.
