€ 1,500 laptop to cut / edit high-quality HD YouTube videos?

A YouTuber had her laptop broken at short notice and begged for donations for a 1,500 € laptop so that she could edit / cut high-quality HD videos.

In my opinion, a 500, - laptop is completely sufficient. I was critical of seeing a laptop that cost over 1,000 euro donated to. Or am I wrong?

For professional editing you need more than a 500 euro notebook. But if you don't really need it on the go, then a PC for around 600 euro makes more sense when building it yourself. It also has as much power as a notebook for 1000 euro and more. 500 euro is enough to consume, but anyone who really needs something professional is not enough. My laptop is from Sony and I can also make good HD videos for 699, - if I wanted to. I don't want to make the Youtuber public. That's not my intention.

If you cut with several tracks and still use color grading, then you won't have fun with a 500 euro notebook.
