I would like to watch my videos that are stored on an external hard disk on my Windows 10 notebook on my Samsung TV (2020 model).
I can watch all videos on the internal hard disk of the notebook without any problems, although any formats that occur to me. They are in the "Videos" library in the "Videos" system folder in various subdirectories.
Those on the external hard disk are not recognized. There I have a directory called "Ext Videos" with various sub-directories. I added the "Ext. Videos" directory to the "Videos" library.
All directories of the internal and external hard disk appear in the Notebook Explorer as well as in the TV under "Videos". Of course, all videos are also visible and playable in the notebook.
Only all directories of "Ext. Videos" appear on the TV, but not the video files (no content).
In the "All Videos" directory of the TV, however, all videos from "Ext. Videos" are visible, but not in subdirectories, that is, completely unsorted, which of course makes searching extremely difficult…
Is that a problem with the library or the name of the directories?
Why library?
Connect the hard drive to the TV or to the PC and then transfer via HDMI
