How can I transfer pictures from my smartphone to my laptop (Win10) using a charging cable? Is that possible?
Depending on what device you have, this should work
So on Android, when connecting, a window always pops up on the smartphone, asking whether you should just load it or transfer images or files.
From a cell phone with Bluetooth or the other way around, it works for me. At the beginning I always had a bit of a hitch with the connection.
That's fine. All you have to do is connect the cell phone to the computer, the cell phone will then be recognized by the computer as a removable disk. You will then receive a message on the mobile phone asking you to confirm that you want to allow access to files (the mobile phone may also be recognized as a data carrier afterwards). Then you can go to the mobile phone in Windows Explorer, which should normally appear under the drive letter D, but that varies depending on what you have connected (you can see the mobile phone on the left in this column). Now you can see the internal memory and the SD card if you have one, otherwise you are probably directly in the internal memory. Here you simply click through the folder, depending on where your pictures are (if you don't know, look in the folder named "DCIM", "Camera" or other obvious names). When you have found the pictures you can simply copy-paste them to your hard drive…
That's fine. You connect the cable to the laptop, go to Windows Explorer. Either a message "Transfer data" appears on the mobile phone, which you click on, or you go to the drive of your mobile phone, select the pictures and use the right mouse button to give the command Copy files. Then you go to the picture folder of the laptop and give the command paste
