Standard format Microphone can't be changed?

In the sound settings I tried to adjust the quality of my microphone array from my laptop. So I went to the Micro in the Sound Control Panel and then expanded. BUT the standard format can't be changed anymore. I have also attached a photo of the problem.

It has often happened that a Windows Update messes up all the sound settings but this time I can't re-adjust them. In special recording programs that works, but the program that I use (I have no other choice) nunmal takes over the system settings.

The question is how can I change the standard format for the sound?
