Since today my internet on the laptop goes from one to the other moment no more… I plug in the LAN cable, laptop does not react. On the router, however, I have no problem with the cable. On the laptop, only 7 out of 8 contacts are visible, as if the leftmost were pushed away like on the top. Can I fix this or do I have to get a network adapter? Has anyone ever had such a thing?
Do you pull this off more often,
Just uninstall the driver in the device manager.
Battery from the notebook.
Disconnect from the power supply.
Try to bring the pin back into position with a needle.
Otherwise change the LAN socket or buy USB to LAN adapter.
Basic solutions, if indeed the LAN port / chip on the laptop are broken:
WLAN stick
LAN connection via ExpressCard or USB.
However, I would first exchange the LAN cable. Cable breaks can never be ruled out and a cable is the cheapest component.
