My mother always wants to read what I write, and that gets on my nerves.
She keeps asking me if she can read it, which in principle is still innocent, but besides original stories I also write fan fictions for my fandom and I just don't want her to read it.
Meanwhile, I'm so suspicious that I changed my laptop password.
I've become totally paranoid and I have a stupid writer's block because of it.
How am I supposed to end this?!
Say no
Tell her that you like to show her when you are happy with it and that it puts you under pressure if you are constantly asked. Make her feel that you respect her wish and like to share it, only if it suits YOU
She must not do this without a sufficient suspicion that you want to kidnap you, for example. Because this is an enormous invasion of privacy.
I do that every time, but she keeps on asking. And for every bit of information I tell her (whether intentional or inadvertent) there are 1000 questions.
Then say no just stay stubborn
What I write I don't really what what you would show your mother under any circumstances ^^ '
Then write something for your mom, problem solved, everyone happy
Writing is a long process, and if I can't stand 1000% behind the project, I just can't write it.
Then continue with your mother, what can I say
Just tell her that you're happy about her obvious interest. That it puts you under constant pressure. And nothing works under pressure.
I couldn't write like that either. Not even a recipe for a mushroom soup without mushrooms! 😉
